Berner Trail Junior Public School

BETTER TOGETHER!

Berner Trail Junior Public School is located on the north side of Berner Trail, just west of Neilson Road.  We are part of the larger Malvern community.  Berner Trail Jr. P. S. opened its doors in 1973.  Our name is derived from C. H. Berner Public School, which dates back to 1872.

Berner Trail Junior Public School is committed to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of our students, in a safe, supportive and caring environment.

Our school serves over 350 students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Languages spoken by students in our school include English, English dialect, Tamil, Urdu, Chinese, Tagalog, Hindi, Punjabi, Farsi, and Arabic.

We share with parents some commonly held basic values which form the foundation for our code of behaviour:

Respect for Others
It is essential that we develop in our children a fundamental belief in the worth of all persons.  From this cornerstone, we can begin to instill compassion, tolerance, courtesy, honesty, cooperation, loyalty, sensitivity and freedom.

Self Discipline
It is our goal to teach young people to accept responsibility for their own actions and behaviours, thereby eliminating the need for external controls.

Self Esteem
All individuals have the right to know that they are both loveable and capable.
